About The Artist
Sue
began "making jewelry" when she was about six years old.... She
and her sister, Annie, used to take the leaves from poplar trees and link them
together, stem to leaf, to make necklaces.
Her grandfather was also an inspiration. As a young man he had worked
in a circus as a one armed jewelry maker. Using copper wire to make chains
he formed necklaces, bracelets and rings. Later he used old silver
tableware to form other pieces of jewelry
and household items such as drawer pulls. Sue's
daughter, Terry Kennedy, is also a jewelry designer and
has provided technical advise and encouragement to her
mother.
Thus with much support and guidance from her family and friends in 2000 Sue designed her first hand crafted piece of jewelry.
