Sue crafts many of the metal elements in her jewelry by pounding brass, silver and copper. She enjoys incorporating the unexpected in her designs and sometimes uses antique silver flatware, plant seeds, like Jobe's Tears, or found mechanical parts.
Many
of the pieces Sue designs today are done as a collaborative effort with Linda
Daniels, the owner of Firenze. Linda has access to major markets in
New York and Atlanta where unique gemstones and beads of bone, wood and other
natural materials can be purchased from suppliers around the world. It's these elements which give Suzy's Hut jewelry it’s exotic flair. Some of the wonderful beads Linda
contributes are made out of carved
Jade, turquoise nuggets
from as close the Southwestern U.S. and as far away as Indonesia & Africa,
rich natural corals![]()
,
pearls and shells
from
the Island countries and the beautiful rich blues of
Amanozite from Brazil.
